UPDATE: Oak Hill woman died after being struck with an axe

UPDATE: OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill police have arrested Hayden John Dixon of Oak Hill and charged him with the murder of Trinity McCallister.

According to court documents, McCallister’s body was discovered on November 12, with blunt force trauma.

At the crime scene, an axe was found and fingerprints on the axe matched those of Dixon.

The medical examiner has ruled that McCallister died from severe strikes to the face and head from the axe and strangulation.

Chief Mike Whisman spoke with WOAY and told us that more charges could be filed.


UPDATE: OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill Police have arrested a man for murder in connection to a woman found dead in her home last week.

According to Oak Hill Police, a warrant was served on Hayden John Dixon, 28, of Oak Hill and charged him with the murder of Trinity McCallister, 35, of Oak Hill.

McCallister was discovered missing on November 11, 2019, and had been living with Dixon.  Officer discovered the body on a day later on November 12.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of death was due to blunt force trauma and strangulation.

On November 13, 2019, Dixon was arrested and charged with unrelated charges of forgery, transfer of stolen goods, driving suspended, false information to law enforcement, and simple possession.   He was placed in Southern Regional Jail under a 75,000 dollar, cash-only bond.

On November 18, 2019, WV State Crime Lab returned evidence over to Oak Hill Police that led to the arrest of Dixon for the murder of Trinity McCallister.

Chief Whisman with Oak Hill Police says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible as more evidence is processed.

UPDATE: OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill Police have released the identity of the woman found dead in a home on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Trinity Anne McCallister, 35, from Oak Hill, was found at 106 Wildwood Place in Oak Hill.  On Monday a missing person report was filed and she was found one day later.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.  The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Oak Hill Police at 304-465-0596.


OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill Police need your help locating a missing woman.

The Oak Hill Police Department needs the public’s help to locate a missing person, Trinity Anne McCallister, 36.

McCallister was seen in the area of Wildwood Place, near Collinwood acres in Oak Hill last Thursday.

She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who has seen McCallister or knows her whereabouts is asked to call Oak Hill Police Department.
