UPDATE: Early Morning Fire Set By Two People, One Person Is In Custody

UPDATE: (10/31/2018 at 3:20 pm) WAR, WV (WOAY) – One person is in custody after an early morning fire in McDowell County.

Police tell WOAY Newswatch that an abandoned building was allegedly set on fire by two people.  The fire then went over into the next building which is a doctor’s office. Both buildings were destroyed due to the fire, water, and smoke damage.  Other buildings were affected, too.

WAR, WV (WOAY) – An early morning fire broke out in the Town Of War.

According to firefighters, the fire broke out at around 5:15 am at Dr. Demesa’s office and the old McDowell Pharmacy building.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene.  No word yet on what caused the fire.  No injuries were reported.
