Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The United Way of Southern West Virginia (United Way SWV) is marking Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity, by inviting the community to an Open House at their Beckley office.
The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today at 110 Croft Street and also doubles as a celebration.
United Way is recognizing 60 years of service here in southern West Virginia.
Since 1965, the organization has worked to strengthen health, education, and financial stability for families across the region.
Executive Director Trena Dacal says they’re excited to welcome friends and neighbors inside, answering questions about services and sharing how United Way supports local communities.
They’re also encouraging those who can to make a $60 donation, in honor of the milestone, to help continue their mission for years to come.
