UPDATE: A Young Boy Sent To The Hospital After Accidental Shooting

UPDATE: West Virginia State Police tell WOAY that the shooting was accidental. The bullet ricochet and hit a young boy. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to be okay.


RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – One person was shot after a shooting incident near Pemberton Saturday night.

Dispatchers tell WOAY that a call came in shortly after 8 pm on Coal City Road near Pemberton and Sophia area.

An underage person was shot and transported to a hospital.  The condition of the victim is not known.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.

West Virginia State Police, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department and Best Ambulance responded to the scene.
