U.S. Senator Joe Manchin seeks to improve the small business administration’s emergency relief programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WOAY) – This morning, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin held an audio press conference call to discuss the additional emergency coronavirus response funding that is being debated by Congress.

Manchin wants majority leader Mitch McConnell to expand and improve the small business administration’s emergency relief programs for small businesses. house and senate democrats are seeking an additional 500 billion in funding. the bill is currently in negotiation.

“Another thing I told people to do if you’re having trouble navigating getting any information or direction then call our office at 304-342-5855 and we will have someone that will help you navigate and make sure your claims are heard and claims are basically getting submitted,” said Manchin.

The bill also requires a report to Congress by May 15 on demographic information of patients with COVID-19 and proposals to reduce COVID-19 related health disparities.
