FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Two Fayette County women are facing child abuse/neglect charges.
Sheriff Mike Fridley says, The Detective Bureau of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has filed child abuse and neglect charges against two Dempsey Branch women following their investigation. Evidence shows that a juvenile had been whipped with an extension cord by a relative on two separate occasions causing cuts to the skin on multiple parts of the body.
The juvenile’s relative, Charlotte Foster, has been charged with Child Abuse Resulting in Injury, and Child Neglect Resulting in Injury. The child’s guardian, Brinda Ramsey, has been charged with Child Neglect Resulting in Injury due to knowing of the incident but taking no action afterward. Both parties will now await court proceedings.
