PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Two nurses at Princeton Community Hospital have been awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, an international award recognizing nurses for excellent care.
Taylor Allison, RN, and Courtney Moore, RN, BSN, were honored this fall at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital.
Allison won her award for the care she provided to a patient and his family in the critical care unit.
“Taylor was one amazing RN. Dad was in CCU for four days. Taylor went above and beyond. She made sure my dad was comfortable, and that I was comfortable,” the family member who nominated Allison said. “Taylor was one of a kind. I’ll miss him, but knowing he was well taken care of makes it a little easier.”

Moore was honored for her help with a patient who delivered two babies under her care, one of which required an extended stay in the hospital.
“Being a new mom, pre-eclamptic and having to deliver early, who wouldn’t be scared? Courtney went above and beyond during my whole labor and delivery process,” the patient said.

Both nurses received gifts and a congratulations banner that will hang in their units.
