Two People In Beckley Charged For Almost 5,000 Dollars In Cocaine Thanks To K-9 Thor

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Police and K-9 Thor find almost 5,000 dollars in cocaine and two handguns leading to the arrest of two people.

Friday, May 18, 2018, at approximately 0100 hours, Sgt. T. A. Bowers with the WVSP Parkways observed a suspicious vehicle in a secluded area of Fitzpatrick Park. Sgt. Bowers approached the vehicle and spoke with the occupants. Sgt. Bowers could clearly see evidence of drug use and paraphernalia.

With the assistance of his K-9 Thor, approximately $4800 worth of what is believed to be cocaine was located inside the vehicle. Sgt. Bowers also located two handguns.

Brian Ruffin age 34 of Beckley WV and Kayla Williams 43 of Artie WV were taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver.

Both subjects were transported to Southern Regional Jail.

Both subjects were later arraigned and placed on a $25,000 bond.

Both subjects were able to make the bail and are out pending further court appearance.
