Two Maryland Men Arrested By Fayette County Deputies For Stolen Bicycles

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Two Maryland men are in jail today on felony theft allegations. Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information regarding this incident.

This morning Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a bicycle shop in Fayetteville in reference to a possible stolen bicycle complaint. The Deputies received word from the shop owner that two males came into this location attempting to sell 2 high-end bicycles. The owner recognized these two bikes as those belonging to a known customer. Contact was made with the actual owner of the bicycles, at which point he did advise that his bikes were missing. The value of these two high-end bicycles is estimated to be about $3,200.

Deputies made contact with these two males at the bicycle shop. Chris Washington (21 of Suitland, Maryland) and Darnell Fraser (20 of Glenburnie, Maryland) were both arrested for the felony offenses of Receiving and Transferring Stolen Goods and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Their bond was set at $25,000 each by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office. They were unable to post bond and were remanded to the Southern Regional Jail.
