Two Fugitives Arrested In Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY (WOAY) – A pair of traffic stops in Fayette County last night leads to the arrest of two fugitives.

At about 8:00 pm on Sunday evening, Corporal A.B. Hudson of the Fayette County Sheriffs Department was conducting targeted traffic enforcement in the Pax area stemming from tips provided by the public. Hudson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Weirwood Rd area of Pax. Hudson discovered that the driver, Stephen L. Williams (42 of Beckley) was wanted from Montgomery County Maryland for the felony charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and was considered possibly armed.

A few hours later Deputy B.K. Fernandez of the Fayette County Sheriffs Department conducted a traffic stop on Court Street in Fayetteville for a minor traffic infraction. Fernandez discovered that the driver, Grant Wriston (19 of Narrows, VA) is wanted from Giles County Virginia on a capias for Selling/Distributing Narcotics. Wriston has been residing in Fayetteville for a short time.
Both subjects were taken into custody without incident. Deputies filed Fugitive From Justice warrants on both individuals. They were placed at the Southern Regional Jail to await extradition.
