Two Fugitives Lead Beckley Police On A Chase

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) –  On 5-17-18 at approximately 12:15am Beckley Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit.

Officers were attempting to stop a blue Hyundai SUV for multiple traffic violations in the area of 3rd ave. The vehicle sped off refusing to stop and subsequently crashed in the area of South Fayette St. near Smoot Av. Passengers were treated and released by EMS and Raleigh General Hospital with no injuries. The traffic stop led to the arrest of two persons:

Devonte Saddler , 22,  of Chattanooga, TN charged with four (4) counts of Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.$100,000 bond

Demetrious Porter, 24, of Chattanooga, TN charged with four (4) counts of Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing from police and being a wanted fugitive reference an incident in Tennessee. $100,000 bond and awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

Additional charges are pending on a third suspect.

In total 104 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of heroin, 27 grams of cocaine and 54 grams of marijuana were seized with an approximate street value of $36,000. There was also one handgun seized as a result of the traffic stop.

Both defendants are currently at the Southern Regional jail.
