FAYETTE COUNTY, (WOAY) – Two Fayette County Deputy Sheriffs were recognized for their efforts in keeping the roads safe.
Corporal Andrew B. Hudson (left) and Deputy First Class Ethan A. Shrewsbury (right) recieved awards for their work in the fight against impaired driving.
Shrewsbury was awarded for conducting 32 Driving Under The Influence arrests during the 2017 calendar year. Hudson also received an award for conducting 39 DUI arrests during the same time period. Hudson, as a certified Drug Recognition Expert, also recieved the state’s “Top Dog” award for conducting the most drug evaluations on impaired persons in West Virginia throughout 2017. These awards were presented during the Highway 2 Enforcement conference hosted by the WV Governor’s Highway Safety Program at Glade Springs Resort.
“We are very proud of these two proactive deputies with the work they have done for our area” said Sheriff Fridley. “Saving lives comes in many forms, making DUI enforcement a top prioriry”.
