Two Charged in Week-Old Shooting Incident

SCARBRO– Two Fayette County people have been arrested after a shooting incident last week.
James and Hillery Wriston are facing several charges after deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a home last Thursday. They responded to a call about a possible shooting incident at a home in Scarbro. When deputies arrived they found two adults and their small child. Deputies say they could not get much information or even who the shooting victim was. Later the woman checker herself into the hospital for a minor gun shot wound. She is described only as a 40 year old Oak Hill woman. Deputies believe the Wristons came to the home for a drug deal and tried to steal the drugs from the victim. After an initial investigation deputies notified the child protective services unit but the alleged perpetrators has already left with their child. Thursday morning deputies were able to find and arrest both Wristons. James is charged with gross child neglect creating risk of injury, wanton endangerment with a firearm, malicious wounding and shooting across a road or alley. Hillery is charged with gross child neglect creating the risk of injury.
