Two arrested on drug charges in Fayette County

ANSTED, WV (WOAY) – Two land in jail on drug charges from a traffic stop in Fayette County.

According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, a Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy was conducting traffic enforcement last night in the Ansted area on US Route 60. The Deputy executed a stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction around 11:00 PM. A search of the vehicle after receiving consent, located drug paraphernalia and a capsule contain what appears to be methamphetamine. While conducting a search of the persons multiple individually packaged bags of methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine and along with US Currency were found.

The suspects, who are from the Mount Hope area, Michael Clark (47) and Kara Sowards (30) were arrested and charged with the felony offenses of Possession With Intent to Deliver Narcotics and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

They will now await court proceedings.
