Two Arrested and Charged For Child Neglect Causing Serious Injuries In Wyoming County

MULLENS (WOAY) – Two people have been arrested and charged for felony child neglect causing serious injury on a 10 month old baby.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department tells WOAY that Gregory Church Jr, 25, from Mullens and Crystal Thomas, 24, from Mullens were arrested and charged for child neglect.

On Friday, December 29, 2017, The Mullen’s Fire Department was sent to an unresponsive child call at Guyandotte Hill Apartments near Mullens .  The child was transported by ambulance to the Raleigh General Hospital and then flown to Charleston Hospital.

Deputies were notified that the child suffered from possibly several broken bones, brain hemorrhage’s, torn retina’s to its eyes, lip and tongue injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and more charges may be brought against the two suspects.
