OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – It will be a cloudy day, but warm. Highs are above average once again today in the 50s.
As we go into the afternoon, rain showers will begin to move in. We keep a rainy night tonight with lows soaring into the 40s (which is even above our average high temperature).
The rain continues into Saturday with highs in the 50s. A cold front passes late Saturday afternoon bringing in chilly air. Highs for Sunday fall into the low-40s, still too warm to see snow. This is not good if you want a White Christmas.
With it still being too warm on Sunday, the chance that rain will turn into snow decreases. However, we do have one saving grace. A reinforcing cold front passes late Sunday night and will bring a little bit of precipitation with it and much colder temperatures.
But since the cold air didn’t arrive earlier, we won’t see as much snow as expected. Christmas Day: you may notice a dusting on the ground. but it will be cold and breezy!! Highs fall into the upper-20s but rebound into the 30s by Tuesday.
