Traffic flagger pinned under several logs during truck accident recovering in hospital

One person is recovering in the hospital after a truck carrying logs wrecked in Nicholas County.

The accident happened on Widen-Dille Road, in Dille, around 3 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters with the Birch River Volunteer Fire Department said the driver of a truck was hauling a trailer full of logs. The trailer overturned and a hitch broke.

Firefighters say all of the logs in the trailer fell over the hill.

A person flagging traffic for a utility crew in the area ran to avoid getting hit, but firefighters say they believe he slipped and fell. Several of the logs rolled on him, pinning him underneath.

Rescue crews had to cut the logs off of the man. He was taken to the hospital, but his name and condition have not been released.
