Tractor-trailer hauling yogurt crashes, closes West Virginia Turnpike

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH BY ANNA TAYLOR, JEFF MORRIS) — A crash involving a tractor-trailer hauling yogurt has temporarily closed all lanes of the West Virginia Turnpike near the 84 mile marker at the Cabin Creek overpass, WCHS REPORTS.

The crash was reported about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes. The tractor-trailer is flipped on its side, and yogurt spilled on the roadway.

Both northbound and southbound lanes will be closed for an unknown amount of time.

The East Bank Volunteer Fire Department, Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority and West Virginia State Police at the turnpike detachment are responding. Crews are checking for injuries.
