Three Convicted Felons Arrested For Firing Shots In Oak Hill

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Deputies arrest three in Oak Hill for felony weapons violations.

On Wednesday night, a Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy was parked near the Shilo Mobile Home Court on Gatewood Road near Oak Hill. The deputy heard gunshots come from Shilo. The deputy then responded to the location within seconds and observed subjects outside one mobile home. The deputy could also detect the familiar odor of burned gunpowder.

K-9 officer Corporal A.B. Hudson of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded with his partner “Java”, who is trained in the detection of explosives and gunpowder residue. The dog provided a positive indication of this mobile home. Investigators then obtained a search warrant for the home, in which they located two 9mm firearms with assorted ammunition.

Three occupants of the home were found to be convicted felons, with prior convictions ranging from narcotics, breaking & entering and manslaughter. These three, Charles Adkins, Timothy Dotson and Phillip Gray were arrested and charged with the felony offense of Prohibited Person In Possession of Firearms. They were unable to post the $25,000 bonds set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office and were remanded to the Southern Regional Jail.
