Thousands Raised For Hinton Firefighter Who Was Injured During Accident

HINTON, WV (WOAY) – Thousands of dollars was raised after a boot drive was held in Hinton for a firefighter.

Justin Dawson was assisting a motorist last month on the side of the road when a vehicle struck him.  He was flown to a hospital and has undergone several surgeries.  His legs had to amputated and the community is coming together to help with medical expenses.

The fire department raised over 4,000 dollars on Saturday for a boot drive.

A benefit dinner will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Hinton.  Dinner will be 10 dollars and include spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, drink, and a dessert.
