The Greenbrier Executive Pastry Chef To Be Featured On Television

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WOAY)-  When Food Network went on a search to find the “Best Baker in America,” it landed on The Greenbrier executive pastry chef Jean-Francois Suteau Instagram page.

Within days of receiving the message, Suteau was submitting his resume and videos of himself in kitchen to prove himself a worthy contestant.

Suteau, a native of Nantes, located southwest of Paris, near the coast of France, comes from generations of pastry chefs and bakers, dating back to 1752. His training began with an apprenticeship at age 15.

Before becoming executive pastry chef at The Greenbrier nearly six years ago, Suteau worked at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Before that, he led culinary teams in Columbus, Georgia, Atlanta and Dallas.

Each episode of “Best Baker in America” features two challenges to test the limits of the chefs’ baking mastery. And each challenge is chaos.

The season two premiere of “Best Baker in America” will air at 9 p.m. on Monday, May 7, on Food Network. For more information, visit
