The Great American Outdoors Act is a victory for West Virginia

WEST VIRGINIA, WV (WOAY) – The Great American Outdoors Act was officially signed into law at a White House ceremony this morning.

The act will protect wildlife habitat, conserve public lands and waters, and expand outdoors recreation opportunities in West Virginia and across the nation.

“The Great American Act is really great for West Virginia. It make sure that the places that we love like the New River Gorge have the funding needed for conversation projects and for access and recreations so we all can enjoy them,” said West Virginia Rivers Operations Manager Kathleen Tyner.

The fund provides up to 1.9 billion a year to address deferred maintenance issues at our national parks, forest, wildlife refuges and other public lands.
