WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): High pressure sweeps into the area today, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and solidifying the extensive dry streak that will take place through the rest of the week. Fire weather will be a concern just as fire season starts, and burn bans are in effect as of yesterday. Please continue to follow the 7AM to 5PM burn ban and be mindful when starting and putting out fires and disposing of cigarette butts. As we approach the next work week, rain chances start to come into the forecast. Monday will be mostly dry, though the slight chance of a couple isolated showers is there. Tuesday will bring in the first bout of measurable rain in some time, which is much needed across the region. The chances spike on Wednesday as a cold front passes through, again bringing much needed rain in the form of showers and thunderstorms across the region.
