The Bill of Rights Institute Has Announced That a Beckley Teacher Has Been Named the National Civics Teacher of the Year.

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- The Bill of Rights Institute has announced that John Quesenberry, a civics teacher from Woodrow Wilson high school, has been named the National Civics Teacher of the year for the 2023-2024 school year!

Quesenberry, has taught at Woodrow Wilson for more than 20 years and is a leading advocate for civics and social studies education in West Virginia. In addition to his love for teaching civics, he is also known to students as ‘coach q’ for his time coaching youth football, basketball, wrestling, and track and field. He is also the advisor for student organizations such as model united nations.
