Teachers may have one-day walk out and protest in Charleston Friday

CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY) – Teachers are still not happy with Governor Justice’s pay increase or health benefits plan.  Many have been meeting across the state, and now some are saying they are ready for a one-day walkout.

Teachers in Wyoming County have one-day walkouts planned – they just won’t say what day yet.

Brandon Wolford, president of the Mingo County West Virginia Education Association says a mass protest is coming, but wouldn’t give a date or details — afraid of what the state could do to shut them down.

At a rally in Wayne County on Monday, Sen. Richard Ojeda, may have let it slip.  “I’ve heard that on Friday, there may be a large group of people coming to the Capitol,” Ojeda said.
