BECKLEY, WV (BY: MIKE MCCULLOUGH, WV METRONEWS) — Balloons and confetti fell over the Tamarack’s main entrance Thursday as they welcomed their 9 millionth guest.
Tamarack Marketing Manager Norma Acord told MetroNews affiliate WJLS Thursday’s ceremony was one of several since their opening in 1996.
Visitors are counted by greeters as they enter the building’s main entrance. Acord says they average 600 people per day in the winter and roughly 2,000 per day in the summer months. This number does not include the side entrances near the conference center.
The 9 millionth guests were Trent and Karen Schanen from Cedar Grove, Wisconsin.
