Update: 4:00 P.M.- The Lewisburg Walmart is back open after a Bomb Technician declared the suspicious package safe.
According to Lewisburg Police Chief Teubert, the box wrapped in “Merry Christmas” wrapping paper prompted Walmart employees to call local authorities.
Teubert said, inside the box were several used blankets.
Multiples agencies assisted in the investigation including State Police, Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Department, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, and Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance.

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – Emergency crews are on scene at Walmart in Lewisburg after a suspicious package was found.
According to officials, a suspicious package was found in the parking lot of Walmart this morning. A call came in at around 9:15 am. Walmart was evacuated as police secured the scene. The bomb squad has been called to the scene.
