Summersville Fire Department Gets New Gear

SUMMERSVILLE (WOAY) – In February Summersville Fire Department purchased 14 sets of new fire gear which included a new bunker coat and jacket, a helmet, nomex hood, protective boots, and a set of extrication gear.

SFD received a grant through the Nicholas County Community Foundation for $5,742.82 which was enough to purchase almost two sets of gear.

Initially SFD’s goal was to replace 10 sets but with the sale of our brush utility truck and the grant we received we were about to purchase 4 additional sets for a totally cost of $46,877.59.

“Thank you to the Nicholas County Community Foundation for your assistance.”
