Summers County Returns to Charleston

Hinton, WV (WOAY) – Summers County girls basketball is headed to the state tournament for a third straight year after a 58-33 win over Pocahontas County Wednesday night in Hinton.

The Lady Bobcats established momentum early in the game, leading by 20 points as early as the first quarter. Hannah Taylor recorded a double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds, while Taylor Isaac added 16 points. Charity Warder led the Lady Warriors with 10 points.

Summers County is the #5 seed in next week’s Class A state tournament, and will face Parkersburg Catholic at 9 PM on Thursday, March 8.

Also in Region 3, Meadow Bridge headed to Charleston Catholic for a second straight year, with the Lady Irish winning 35-30. The Lady Wildcats finish their season 20-5.
