Students In One Mercer County School Are Making A Difference With Rocks

SPANISHBURG, WV (WOAY) – Spanishburg Elementary students are finding a new way to rock on.

Students from Spanishburg Elementary School spent the day “seeding” the inspirational rock garden in front of the building and all it takes is a small corner for kindness to grow.

Hundreds of hand-painted rocks created by students were placed in front of the entrance of the school.

“You can see the rock garden and each one unique and each one is individuals and that goes to show that each person is unique individualize and that we all different and that we respect each other differences and we support each other,” said Melissa Booth, Principal

The school plans to add additional rocks in later years.
