Strong Storms Continue; Sloppy Weekend Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Yesterday saw strong storms across the region and even a few flash flood warnings in Tazewell county. Today will likely continue that trend, and the National Weather Service has already issued a Flood Watch for the entire viewing area from 2PM today until Midnight. Storms can start up as early as noon, though will more likely begin around 2PM and last through the evening until around midnight. Damaging winds are also likely with these storms, which could down some trees in saturated soils. Below is the severe weather outlook for today:

We will continue to see stronger storms and flooding concerns tomorrow and through the weekend as a cold front passes by and lingers across the state through the weekend. There won’t be much of a break from the rain as we start the next week. Chances do go down, but afternoon thunderstorms and showers will be scattered across the region.
