Stormy Weekend; On and Off Rain Through the Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After the couple of dry days we had, we won’t see another fully dry day for quite a bit. At least this morning will stay dry, but storms and showers will develop in the late afternoon into the evening hours. Thankfully, these storms will not be strong, especially since they are developing late in the day. Keep the rain gear ready as Meteorologist Christian Boteler takes a dive into the rainy week ahead:

The weekend is not going to fare any better, as more storms and showers will develop due to a stalling stationary front just to our northeast. Thankfully, these storms are not expected to be severe. Isolated downpours are expected with the stronger of the thunderstorms, causing some concern for areas vulnerable to flash flooding issues. Over the next 48 hours, we are expected around a half inch of rain across most areas with higher amounts in isolated spots. Here’s the latest model projection:

Rain is the theme of this forecast, as we continue the wet weather pattern for the next week. The front will pass through the area Sunday and Monday, brining more widespread storms across the region. The work week will see a more diurnal pattern, with rainy days and breaks from the rain overnight as we lose daytime heating. Tuesday and Wednesday will continue to see daytime rain and overnight breaks before a cold front passes through on Thursday. Despite the rain, though, we’ll stay in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the area. With the continued rain, some flooding concerns will live on, especially if isolated downpours affect vulnerable areas. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
