Stormy Weekend Ahead; Rain Fades Gradually

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today has started with patchy fog across the region and some sunshine, but the sun won’t last for long. Isolated storms will start to develop in the afternoon and continue in spots through the night, bringing on even more storms Saturday as the front moves through slowly. The main line of storms is trending to not hit our area until Saturday morning as the front passes us. Wind, hail, and flooding issues are all in play for the next couple of days. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

The flooding issues come from the front slowly moving over the area overnight and tomorrow, dropping rain for a lengthy period between tonight and tomorrow. We also had some flash flood warnings across the region yesterday, and with guidance showing some areas needing less than an inch of rain within an hour to commence flash flooding, we will be keeping a close eye on the situation. Make sure you have the StormWatch app and other ways to receive alerts as these showers and storms hit the area. Here’s the projected rainfall totals over the next 48 hours:

Sunday will bring more lingering storms and showers, which could bring some strong weather once again before we finally get somewhat of a break on Monday. While showers will be present, they will be more scattered ahead of the next frontal system on Tuesday. More rain and storms are expected Tuesday of next week before we finally get dry thanks to high pressure moving into the area on Wednesday. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
