WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): While the skies look great right now, a front will be making its way to our area starting later in the evening. This front will bring severe weather, with wind being the main concern. However, hail, flooding, and an isolated spin-up are all possible through the area today. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has your full forecast:
After the severe weather tonight, the rain and storms will continue but will be weaker through the day tomorrow. There will be breaks in the rain, however brief they may be. The next severe threat will be on Thursday, though it is only slight at this time. We are currently under the thunderstorm risk level, though our neighbors to the west are in the marginal risk at this time. Winds would again be the main concern if severe weather does make its way to our area for Thursday.
Friday and Saturday will see continued rain and isolated storms as another low pressure system moves past us to the northeast, heading to Canada. These showers and storms will be scattered until finally being pushed out on Sunday by a high pressure. Temperatures will drop to the low 60s Saturday into Sunday as a stronger cold front brings cooler area for the time being. Monday will continue Sunday’s nice weather with mostly sunny skies and temperatures stay in the mid-60s. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
With this mass of rain in the forecast, many will be looking forward to the coming relief at the end of the week. There is some good news concerning relief as well, since we will see dry conditions coming through the area starting Sunday. The next 6-10 days will be very dry compared to average, making for a nice few days to start next week.
