Beckley man arrested for weekend stabbing

BECKLEY, WV (NEWS RELEASE) — A stabbing occurred on Saturday in Beckley according to the Beckley Police Department.

Here is the official press release” “On August 19, 2017, officers of the Beckley Police Department responded to a stabbing incident in the 1800 block of South Kanawha Street. Upon arrival, it was discovered that one male victim was suffering from multiple, severe stab wounds to his torso and neck that had led to massive blood loss. Due to the quick actions of the responding patrol officers and paramedics, the victim was stabilized and transported to a local hospital. Subsequently, the victim had to be flown by helicopter to a Morgantown hospital for further treatment.

An investigation by BPD detectives led to the arrest of Troy Lamont Cheese of Beckley in reference to this incident. Mr. Cheese was taken into custody at the scene without incident and he has been charged with Malicious Wounding. He was arraigned in Raleigh County Magistrate Court and remanded to the Southern Regional Jail.”
