UPDATE: Missing Fayette County Woman Found Safe

UPDATE: 6/20/3018 12:30 pm – Sheriff Mike Fridley advises that Daisy Shrewsbury has been located. An ATV rider located her on Cotton Hill Mountain near Gauley Bridge. Ms Shrewsbury drove out this very rugged road, eventually getting her car stuck in deep ruts.

She was evaluated by EMS personnel, where she was found to be dehydrated, but in good spirits.

“We’d like thank all the agencies and the public for their assistance in locating Ms. Shrewsbury” said Fridley.


UPDATED: 6/20/2018 @ 11: 17 a.m.- Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for Daisy Shrewsbury.


Sheriff Mike Fridley advises that investigators have checked Ms. Shrewsbury’s financials for recent activity, and are in the process of checking the state’s License Plate Reader(LPR) system to see if her vehicle has passed by a camera point.


The WVSP air unit is currently flying the area in an attempt to locate her as well.

FAYETTE COUNTY– The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is attempting to locate a missing person.

62 year old Daisy Arlene Shrewsbury of Dixie left the Odell Funeral Home in Montgomery yesterday evening and has not been seen since.  She left on Deepwater Mountain Road (Rt. 61) southbound in a grey 2009 Hyundai Sonata (similar to the one pictured) bearing WV registration number 7Z7700. Ms Shrewsbury suffers from dementia, and needs to be located as soon as possible.
A Silver Alert is being issued at this time. If you spot Ms Shrewsbury, or have information that may lead to her wherabouts, please call 911 immediately.
This case remains under investigation by Deputy K.V. Halstead of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
