Showers and Storms Through Saturday; Better End to the Weekend

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will start off cloudy with a few scattered showers, with more showers and storms developing through the day. The incoming cold front will arrive overnight tonight, giving the best chance for thunderstorms and showers then. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

The storms and showers will continue through the day Saturday, eventually dissipating around 8 PM tomorrow night. While no severe weather is expected with these storms, you can still be struck by lightning if you hear thunder. Make sure to keep umbrellas closed and to find shelter if you are outside during a thunderstorm.

Sunday will see better conditions as high pressure comes through the area. Temperatures will be down to the low-60s from the cold front, but skies will go from partly cloudy to sunny by 1 PM. These wonderful conditions will continue into Monday along with rebounding temperatures into the 70s. We will continue to see above average temperatures at the end of the month through the beginning of May. Here’s the 6-10 Day Outlook:

After the nice weather Monday, we will see a return of the rain Tuesday evening. Scattered showers and storms will return as another cold front approaches the area. The front will come through Wednesday, giving more chances for showers across the region through Thursday as well. Make sure you keep the rain gear on hand for this weekend into the middle of next week. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
