RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY)— Another local police department hosted their “Shop With A Cop” program earlier today.
The aisles of Walmart in McArthur were filled with cops and families that went shopping for toys, coats and shoes to help local children in the Raleigh County area.
A check was also presented to Walmart with the amount of money that was raised to spend on this year’s Shop With A Cop.
Shop With A Cop is a memorable experience for all cops and children that come to the event during the holiday season.
“Each kids has an impact on us. They make such a good impact on us that it’s overwhelming with the joy on their faces. Each kid is just so happy. It’s really humbling, whether it’s a new pair of jeans or this board game that they have been dying to get. It’s really exciting,” said Christine Schack, Raleigh County Deputy.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department is very thankful for all of the support from the community in order to make this event successful.
