Sheriff: Fayette Co. woman shot while four tried to rob her; Including suspect involved in high speed chase

FAYETTE CO., WV (NEWS RELEASE) – Two Fayette County people were hospitalized last night with gun shot wounds during an alleged robbery attempt. Fayette County Sheriff Michael Fridley released the following information regarding this incident;

On Monday August 28th at 10:58 pm notification was received through the Fayette County 911 Center of a female who had been shot in the lower abdomen in the Gatewood Road area of Fayette County. She was taken to Plateau Medical Center for treatment. Deputy Sheriffs then made contact with her there to begin their investigation.

Shortly thereafter another call of a male subject who had received gunshot wounds in the Scarbro area of Fayette County was received through the 911 Center. This male subject identified as Jarrell Green (Age 21 of Oak Hill), received two gunshot wounds to his legs. He was transported to Raleigh General Hospital for treatment. Deputies discovered that Jarrell was shot at the female’s residence during the initial incident.

Deputies further learned that during the initial incident that 3 males and 1 juvenile female went to this residence to allegedly commit a robbery. The female victim received a gunshot wound to the abdomen during the robbery attempt. She managed to obtain the firearm from the shooter and shot back at the attackers, at which time Jarrell received the gunshot wounds to the legs. All 4 robbery suspects fled the scene.

One of the robbery suspects was identified as Micheal Ray Hodge Jr. (Age 19 of Oak Hill). Hodge was arrested early this morning on felony charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and Attempted Robbery. Hodge has been remanded to the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $75,000.00 bond.

Jarrell Green was taken into custody following his release from the hospital and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail on the same charges in lieu of a $75,000.00 bond.

Warrants have been issued for the third suspect, Bryan Keith Allen (Age 28 of Oak Hill) for the same charges, and remains at large at this time.

Juvenile Petitions will be filed against the juvenile female who was involved in this incident.

The female victim, Angelia Jones, was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center for further treatment where her status is listed as stable.

Bryan Allen and Micheal Hodge Jr are on bonds for an unrelated incident stemming from a high speed pursuit leading from Glen Jean to Fayetteville earlier this month.
