WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): While it’s been mainly rain so far today, storms will develop and intensify overnight into Monday. High wind is our main concern, but an isolated tornado and hail cannot be ruled out through Monday. Meteorologist Christian Boteler discusses:
The Midwest is being slammed by storms right now, which will make their way through the area overnight into Monday morning. High winds are expected, with a chance of an isolated spin-up and large hail possible. Vulnerable spots may also experience minor flooding in some areas. Severe Weather watches and warnings are expected to start popping up overnight, which we will cover and keep our community updated with.
Tuesday is a break from the rain and strong weather with partly sunny skies and cooler temperatures resulting from the cold front. However, the break does not last for long, as we have a rainy week ahead. Wednesday and Thursday will feature some pop-up showers as a stationary front stays to our north.
The front finally moves in Friday morning, giving us steady showers through the day. Rain will dissipate as night falls but will quickly be followed by more rainy weather from a new system through the weekend. Make sure you have your rain jacket ready, as we will be seeing some soggy conditions over the next week.
