Severe drought erased in W.V., moderate drought still lingering

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY) – The weekly drought monitor released today shows that West Virginia is no longer in severe drought.

Due to recent rainfall, the drought across West Virginia is improving.  According to the weekly drought monitor, West Virginia is still seeing moderate drought conditions across southern West Virginia.  Every county in our viewing area is seeing a moderate drought.  According to the Climate Prediction Center, drought improvements are likely to continue.
