FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Several people from Fayette County are sentenced for drug trafficking.
Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney, Larry E. Harrah, II announces that on May 14, 2018, Paul Petry of Montgomerywas sentenced to not less than one (1) but not more than five (5) years in prison and fined one thousand dollars following a guilty plea on March 23, 2018 to delivery of methamphetamine. Petry sold methamphetamine to a cooperating individual in January 2017 near a business in Montgomery.
In addition, William Smith of Oak Hill was sentenced to not less than two (2) nor more than thirty (30) years and fined one thousand dollars ($1000.00) for his admitted role in a drug conspiracy and for possession of heroin with intent to deliver. In April 2017, law enforcement executed a search warrant on his home on Oyler Avenue in Oak Hill and found pre-packaged drugs along with cash proceedsfrom drug trafficking.
Also, on May 14, 2018, Sara Pennington of Minden was sentenced to not less than one (1) but not more than five (5) years in prison and fined one thousand dollars following a guilty plea on March 27, 2018 to delivery of methamphetamine. Pennington sold methamphetamine to a cooperating individual in Scarbro in May 2017.
On May 15, 2018, Dean Gamble, Sr. was sentenced to not less than five (5) nor more than twenty-five (25) years in prison for his role in distributing suboxone in March of 2017 and for conspiracy to commit burglary and grand larceny of a residence on Old Fayetteville Road in Oak Hill in June 2017.
These crimes were investigated by members of the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force and the Oak Hill Police Department.
