Search warrant leads to child neglect arrest

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- A woman has been arrested for child neglect after a search warrant lead deputies to finding loaded guns and needles in the home.

According to a criminal complaint, deputies were dispatched to WUFU tattoo shop in Princeton after a car had driven through the shop. After questioning those involved, deputies were led to Dainleys Mobile Home where enough evidence was collected to obtain a search warrant.

The search warrant ultimately led deputies to finding a loaded Sawed Off 12 gauge Herrington and Richardson shot gun, as well as multiple rounds of ammunition and several edged weapons. Deputies found Ayena French on an air mattress with an infant, and hypodermic needles around.

French has been charged with child neglect creating risk of injury. She is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a $15,000 bond.
