School cafeteria employee awarded

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – A Shady Spring Middle School employee was recognized on the national level.

Susan Parsons is the cafeteria manager at Shady Spring Middle School. The School Nutrition Association recognized her accomplishments in her role at the state level and recently awarded her at the regional level for the Mid-East.

Parsons says winning the award goes to show just how great of an area Raleigh County is.

“It just represents our county’s child nutrition, which does a fantastic job,” said Parsons. “I think in the country, we are the best.”

Next, Parsons could be awarded at the national level. Right now, it’s unclear when she’ll receive her award due to the pandemic, but she’s excited to have made it this far in being recognized for her hard work.
