Beckley, WV (WOAY)-The Salvation Army of Beckley will officially begin its Christmas fundraising season with the annual Kettle Kick-Off.
The event takes place on Friday, November 14, at 6:00 p.m. at Crossroads Mall.
The Beckley Brass Band will perform festive Christmas carols.
The Salvation Army’s fundraising goal is $150,000, and they aim to raise the money by Christmas Eve.
All funds collected through the iconic Red Kettle campaign will stay local, helping provide food, shelter, utility assistance, and holiday support to individuals and families in need throughout Raleigh, Nicholas, Fayette, Wyoming, Webster, Greenbrier, and Pocahontas County.
Community members are welcome to join the celebration, enjoy the holiday music, and be among the first to donate to a great cause.
“The Kettle Kick-Off marks the beginning of a season of hope,” said Captain Liz Blusiewicz. “Every dollar dropped into a red kettle helps us meet real needs in our community, especially during the holidays when so many are struggling.”
