SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A $13,288,965 project has begun on Webster Road in Summersville.
The project starts at milepost 17.28 near Lowes and cuts across US19, finally ending near Silo Road.
Crews will add a 1,000 foot turning lane at the intersection with US19 and a 3,000 foot-long center lefthand turn lane near Glade Creek Park.
The improvements will help drivers turn out of traffic to reach homes, businesses, and schools. It will also help reduce emergency response times.
The Division of Highways estimates that 6,100 vehicles use the road each day. The project should be done by next summer.
