Rivers Running Low; No Drought Help Until Next Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Hot weather returns early next week and the next threat of rain is from a frontal system during midweek.

HEAT/DROUGHT: While afternoon temperatures this weekend will hit the upper 80s, expect two days of 90-degree weather Monday and Tuesday. The hot, dry weather will allow drought to expand in coverage across our region. Watering the garden will be a necessity through next week.

RAIN: A cold front will finally arrive Wednesday with showers and storms and likely linger into Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 0.50-0.75″ appear likely. Temperatures will drop into the 70s behind the front Thursday and Friday.
