Resilient woman starts business in Beckley a year after losing everything in Hurricane Harvey

BECKLEY (WOAY)- Cat DiClaro is pressing the reset button on her life.

For years, DiClaro lived in Houston, Texas until it was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

“The walls, everything was saturated,” she said. “Everything was gone.”

With nothing, DiClaro drove to Beckley to live with her father.

“It took her an extra week and a half to get here because she had to drive around the flood,” Joseph DiCarlo said.

Instead of saying ‘why me?’ DiClaro is starting to rebuild her life. She and her father built a 200-square foot office for her to work in, as an effort to start over.

Watch to find out what DiClaro did with her new office to get her life back on track.
