Rep. Jenkins Announces Raleigh Co. Student Accepted To Naval Academy

RALEIGH COUNTY (WOAY) – Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that Trenton Begley of Raleigh County has been admitted to the U.S. Naval Academy. Rep. Jenkins nominated Trenton to the academy, and the academy has offered him admission to the Class of 2022.

Trenton, a senior at Liberty High School, is the son of Christopher and Katessa Begley of Fairdale.

“I am proud to congratulate Trenton on his admission to the Naval Academy and am confident that he embodies the best that West Virginia has to offer. His admission to this prestigious academy is a testament to his hard work, and I know he will represent our state well. I am grateful for his willingness to serve and wish him all the best,” Rep. Jenkins said.

Trenton is a member of Liberty High School’s football and baseball teams, as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Rep. Jenkins nominated 12 West Virginia high school students to U.S. military service academies this year, and Trenton is the second to be offered admission by an academy.
