Nicholas County– U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that FEMA has awarded West Virginia more than $3.9 million for design and engineering services for Summersville Middle School and to secure temporary school facilities.
The West Virginia School Building Authority will receive $1,626,049.50 for design and engineering services for Summersville Middle School, which sustained substantial damage in the June 2016 floods.
The Nicholas County School District will receive $2,291,426.43 to secure temporary school facilities.
“Our teachers and children deserve a stable, safe learning environment during this difficult time. These funds will help start rebuilding Summersville Middle School and provide hope for our students, teachers and community,” Rep. Jenkins said.
